CHARLES W NEW

Charles W New came to the Sweeny school system about 1950 as a teacher of English & history and was highly respected by the high school students of the day as a gifted teacher. Six years later , he was selected by the district to be the director of curriculum.

He is pictured below in the 1953 annual with another highly regarded teacher, Joseph Pantalone..

In 2012 Mr. New, now in his 90's, and wife Clara were guests at the 55th reunion of the class of 1957. Clara is the widow of teacher/principal John Maples.
